If the story is women's fiction, then focus on her personal growth and the barriers she needs to overcome to grow into the woman she is at the end of the book. (If it's a retelling of Romeo and Juliet, then say that if you can.)

If it is a historical romance I'd suggest cutting the Hatfield/McCoy comparison and show us what makes her path to love/the choices she makes particularly difficult (girl loving the wrong boy isn't quite enough here). It could be others depending on her, promise made to her mother, etc. The external conflict is clear, try to share her internal conflict as well.

Trust me, I know it's difficult in the limited amount of words you have!

Hope this helps and to see you at other pitch contests.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08808596171937548887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4098112181390370529.post-40360426525724673152013-07-10T16:48:01.528-07:002013-07-10T16:48:01.528-07:00The story takes place in the early 1900'sThe story takes place in the early 1900'sInk in the Bookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03117718811407968345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4098112181390370529.post-61930816541019797862013-07-10T16:15:01.240-07:002013-07-10T16:15:01.240-07:00Can you clarify if this is a historical please?
